Lori Landers
Lori Landers joined JAMAROO Kids in early 2017 as a part-time teacher, slowly transitioning into a full-time position. Her experience working with children before joining JAMaROO Kids spans over 20 years and includes working at multiple Bay Area schools, including teaching for 6 years side-by-side with Jamaica in Marin County before Jamaica founded JAMaROO Kids. It was at that time that Lori decided to go back to school as a single mother to take night classes and complete Early Childhood Education requirements.
She later taught for 7 years at Bright Horizons Schools, a globally recognized corporation that takes pride in bringing early childhood education to its highest standard.
Lori has always loved music, dance, and theater. In high school, Lori took modern dance classes and did set design for her school’s theater company. As an adult, she sang for a couple of years in a gospel choir in Southern California.
When Lori isn’t teaching, you can find her filling her free time wine tasting with her husband and cooking for her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating in the 80s and windsurfing in Hawaii.
When Lori was asked what she loves about teaching for JAMaROO Kids and working with children, she responded “I am a parent of two grown children, and joining the JAMaROO Team in early 2017 has filled my yearning for those early years daily. There is no greater satisfaction than sharing your love of children with your employer and like-minded teachers. Together we bring different strengths and weaknesses while learning from each other, creating and sharing the joy it brings to all of us in special ways. We sleep at night knowing in our hearts that all those kiddos are being impacted in a very positive and lasting way.”
Lori’s favorite things are Hawaii, hiking, going to the beach, and hanging out with her family at her family’s cabin in Twain Harte.
Fun Lori Facts: Lori comes from a family of five children and her family history goes back to 1868 in San Francisco. Her mother still lives in the house her great-grandparents bought in Marin in 1905.
